There are moments that go beyond the significance of an event and become the starting point for something greater.
In Andros, during the award ceremony of the 59th Eurobank International Andros Yacht Race “I. V. Goulandris”, the President of Theotokos Foundation, Panagis Karellas, had the opportunity to speak about the Foundation’s work and the importance of creating meaningful opportunities for participation, experience and personal development for the people we support.
Of particular significance was the meeting with Andros native Dimitris Kokkinis, Master Mariner, founder and CEO of Proteus Social Innovation & Development.
Deeply connected to the sea and the island of Andros, he views shipping not only as one of the most important pillars of the Greek economy, but also as a field that can create new experiences, skills and opportunities.
The emerging collaboration between Theotokos Foundation and Proteus Social Innovation & Development creates an important opportunity for our beneficiaries: to come closer to the world of the sea and shipping, experience a different environment first-hand, broaden their horizons and explore possibilities that may previously have seemed beyond their reach.
We warmly thank Dimitris Kokkinis for his trust, social awareness and, above all, his genuine commitment to creating new opportunities for the people of Theotokos Foundation.
Our sincere thanks also go to the President of the Andros Yacht Club, Faidon Tamvakakis, as well as to the Club’s team for their hospitality, support and warm welcome.
We also extend our congratulations to all the athletes and crews who took part in the race for their effort, perseverance and passion.
For us, what truly matters is creating pathways where, until yesterday, there were only distances—bringing the people we support closer to new experiences, new possibilities and new worlds.
This collaboration represents another important step in that direction.
