Accessibility Statement

The “Theotokos” Foundation for the Protection of Children and Young People with Developmental Disorders is committed to ensuring that its website, theotokos.gr, is accessible to as many people as possible, including people with disabilities.

Digital accessibility is an integral part of our mission to promote equal participation, autonomy and social inclusion.

Accessibility Standards

Our goal is to continuously improve the website in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, while also taking into account the relevant requirements of the European standard EN 301 549 on accessibility requirements for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) products and services.

Accessibility Status

The website is undergoing continuous accessibility improvements. Based on our current self-assessment and automated accessibility testing, we have identified certain areas that do not yet fully meet our intended accessibility standards.

We are working progressively to identify and address these issues.

Measures We Take

To improve the accessibility of our website, we:

  • support keyboard navigation and provide a “Skip to content” link;
  • aim to maintain an appropriate structure for pages, headings, links and navigation elements;
  • provide descriptive alternative text (alt text) for all images, and add it to every new publication;
  • carry out automated and periodic accessibility checks;
  • address accessibility issues identified during website maintenance and updates;
  • provide the website’s main content in both Greek and English.

The website also provides the UserWay accessibility tool, which allows visitors to adjust certain display and interaction settings, such as text size and spacing, contrast and link highlighting.

This tool is provided as a supplementary accessibility aid and does not replace accessibility improvements made directly to the website, its content and its underlying code.

Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible.

PDF documents and other files:
Some older documents, including annual reports, financial information and other publications, may not be fully accessible to screen readers or other assistive technologies.

If you require any of these documents in a more accessible or alternative format, please contact us.

Third-party content:
Some content provided through external services, such as embedded videos, social media content or external online platforms, may present accessibility limitations that are not entirely within the Foundation’s technical control.

Moving content:
Certain website elements, such as sliders, may change automatically. We are working to improve users’ ability to control this type of content.
